QualificationsA master's degree in Mathematics or a closely related field with at least 18 graduate hours in mathematics is required. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching at this level.
Responsibilities- Demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, service, and professional development.
- Teach online and face-to-face general education courses, including co-requisite offerings.
- Prepare and submit course syllabi, outlines, and learning objectives.
- Maintain class schedule and accurate records.
- Deliver course instruction in accordance with approved curricula.
- Utilize a variety of effective teaching strategies appropriate to the learning environment.
- Evaluate student performance and submit grades in a timely manner.
- Participate in the periodic review of course materials.
- Maintain appropriate disciplinary expertise through ongoing professional development.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and alignment with departmental goals and objectives.
- Participate in faculty meetings and serve on departmental and university committees as assigned.
- Engage in scholarly and professional activities, which may include grant writing, research, publications, and presentations.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with federal regulations and university policy.
- Represent the department in recruitment and retention activities, including those held outside normal working hours.
- Engage in professional and community service.
