Job Overview
The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) provides direct, one‑on‑one behavioral intervention services to clients under the close supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA). The RBT implements behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and skill acquisition programs to support client progress in communication, social, adaptive, and behavioral skills.
Duties- Implement individualized treatment plans and behavior intervention plans as written by the supervising BCBA/BCaBA.
- Provide direct ABA therapy services to clients in clinic, home, school, or community settings.
- Collect accurate and objective data on client performance and behavior during sessions.
- Utilize evidence‑based ABA strategies, including reinforcement, prompting, shaping, and behavior reduction techniques.
- Assist with teaching communication, social, self‑help, play, and adaptive living skills.
- Support reduction of maladaptive behaviors using approved intervention strategies.
- Maintain professional, therapeutic rapport with clients and caregivers.
- Participate in required supervision, team meetings, and ongoing training.
- Communicate client progress, concerns, and session outcomes to supervising clinician.
- Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and ethical standards.
- Complete all session notes, data entry, and required documentation in a timely manner.
- Follow clinic policies, safety protocols, and ethical guidelines at all times.
- Prior experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles and behavioral therapy techniques is a strong asset.
- Experience assisting with ADLs and implementing behavior management strategies demonstrates your readiness for this role.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and HIPAA compliance ensures professionalism in handling sensitive information.
- Teaching or caregiving experience in special education or behavioral health settings is beneficial.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and document data accurately to track client progress effectively.
- Passion for working with people with autism and a genuine desire to support their growth through patient care and behavioral interventions.
