Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) - Natchitoches, LA

Healthcare professionals with experience in RN-Psych and LPN roles have an exciting opportunity to deliver compassionate care and provide critical mental health support in a dynamic clinical environment. This contract position focuses on supporting patients with psychiatric and behavioral health needs, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, therapeutic care.

• Active and unrestricted RN or LPN license
• Previous experience in psychiatric or behavioral health nursing required
• Current BLS certification
• Strong assessment and patient advocacy skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to manage challenging situations with empathy and professionalism
• Familiarity with electronic health records preferred

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and collaborate on individualized care plans
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses
• Document observations, interventions, and changes in patient status accurately
• Facilitate therapeutic activities and group sessions as needed
• Monitor and manage behavioral health emergencies, following established protocols
• Provide patient and family education about mental wellness, medication management, and discharge planning
• Maintain compliance with all safety, regulatory, and confidentiality standards
