Job Overview
Northwestern State University seeks a GIS Research Associate to work with the National Center for Preservation Technology and Training (NCPTT), a research office of the National Park Service. The position involves GIS technology, digital story mapping, and field data collection at historic sites across the country. Based in Natchitoches, Louisiana, this is a two-year contract role focused on geographic information systems and historic preservation research.
KeyQualifications
- Experience with GIS systems and UAS (Unmanned Aerial Systems)
- Proficiency with ArcGIS software and GPS/GNSS/RTK hardware systems
- Knowledge of architectural history and historic preservation
- Ability to travel to remote sites for extended field data collection
- Valid driver's license and ability to work in the US without visa sponsorship
- Undergraduate degree minimum required
