Perform work involved with the installation, rearrangement, maintenance, operation, removal, and inspection of electrical transmission and distribution facilities, drive and operate line trucks and associated auxiliary equipment. All job duties apply to overhead and underground equipment and facilities. The Lineman C builds upon the skills, abilities and knowledge learned as a Lineman D (or equivalent).

Successful candidate must reside within 30 minutes of the Natchitoches Service Center.

• Assemble, install, maintain, remove and competently inspect underground facilities, conductors, fixtures, structures and other associated equipment on de-energized and grounded overhead and underground facilities under immediate or general supervision.
• During the first six months in this classification, be capable of working on conductors and equipment energized up to 260 volts under general supervision.
• Assist with work on conductors and equipment energized at secondary voltages to 600 volts under immediate supervision of higher classification.
• After six months in this classification, be capable of working on conductors and equipment energized up to 600 volts under general supervision.
• Use volt-amp meters, ground meggers, continuity testers and other electrical test equipment up to 600 volts.
• Apply insulating protective equipment on facilities energized only at voltage qualified to work on.
• Under direct supervision, operate cutouts, line switches, reclosers, and other sectionalizing devices, refuse line and transformer devices, test de-energized lines and equipment, and place or remove grounds.
• Progress from direct supervision to immediate and finally general supervision as skill level dictates.
• Build and erect equipment mountings (such as regulator and transformer platforms) and build overhead transformer installations.
• Perform proper tagging procedures while performing switching of energized circuits.
• Perform inspection and trouble-shooting of lines.
• Direct the work of employees assigned to assist.

• Education:
  
  High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Work experience:
  
  Minimum of one year distribution electrical power line work experience, OR one year of related line experience defined as successful completion of a one year electrical power line school certificate plus a minimum of 16 weeks internship or distribution electrical power line experience, or an Associate degree from an electrical power line school which includes a minimum of 16 weeks internship or distribution electrical power line experience.
• License/Certification:
  Valid Class A CDL.
• Other:
  Should have performed the duties of and have all the qualifications of Lineman D or the equivalent, qualify through demonstration, examination and/or performance appraisal as determined by the Company, etc.

• Education:
  
  High school diploma or GED.
• Work experience:
  
  Minimum of 2 years of work experience as Lineman C or the equivalent experience as determined by the Company.
• License/Certification:
  Valid Class A CDL.
• Other:
  Should have performed the duties of and have all the qualifications of Lineman C or the equivalent and qualify through demonstration, examination and/or performance appraisal as determined by the Company.

• Education:
  
  High school diploma or GED.
• Work Experience:
  
  Successful completion of apprentice lineman training, including B-200 certification written test with a score of 80% or higher and successful completion of hands‑on comprehensive demonstrations. External candidates must have a minimum of 4 years line work experience and successful completion of the journeyman pre‑assessment.

  Valid Class A CDL.
• Other:
  Should have performed the duties of and have all the qualifications of Lineman B or the equivalent and qualify through demonstration, examination and/or performance appraisal as determined by the Company.
