Columbia University MATLAB Student Ambassador

Base pay range: $22.00/hr - $34.00/hr

Summary: Math Works has a hybrid work model that enables staff members to split their time between office and home. The hybrid model provides the advantage of having both in‑person time with colleagues and flexible at‑home life optimizations. Learn More:

Responsibilities
  • Explore and implement creative ideas for spreading awareness of the Math Works brand and products among students.
  • Identify and engage with prominent student organizations related to Engineering, Math, Science, and Finance.
  • Plan and organize events on campus to demonstrate the state of the art with MATLAB and Simulink.
  • Use social media outlets and prevalent communication channels at the university to spread awareness of Math Works Student Challenges and resources available to learn MATLAB and Simulink.
  • Promote Math Works presence at university career fairs, information sessions, and other recruiting events.
  • Host fun events on campus to demonstrate MATLAB and Simulink, providing resources such as software demos and hardware tools.
  • Use social media skills to spread awareness of Math Works products on Facebook and Twitter by sharing articles.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Current bachelor’s level student in a technical discipline.
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis for any employer without restriction.
  • Visa sponsorship will not be provided.
Additional Qualifications
  • Proficient in MATLAB; familiarity with Simulink is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a passion for social media (Facebook, Linked In, Twitter, blogging, etc.).
  • Undergraduate or graduate student in good academic standing with at least two semesters remaining in the degree program (preferably in Engineering).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work on several projects simultaneously.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US.
