- Bachelor's Degree
- Master’s degree preferred
- Massachusetts DESE certification in Elementary Education 1‑6
- SEI Endorsement (if applicable)
- Strong foundation in student‑centered pedagogy
- Knowledge of developmental needs of children
- Strong content‑area knowledge and expertise
- Knowledge of elementary school philosophy
- Thorough understanding of theories and teaching methodologies, and of the academic, social, and emotional needs of elementary school students
- Working knowledge of the Massachusetts Standards‑Based curriculum
- Working knowledge of the principles of UDL
- Working knowledge of SEL instruction and supports
- Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice in student, staff, and community engagement
- Teaching in a diverse public elementary school
- Working with students with disabilities/special abilities
- Working with English language learners
- Experience with Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Classroom, etc.)
- Experience with Power School (preferred, training provided)
- Demonstrated aptitude for work to be performed
- Bilingual skills, especially Spanish and Portuguese, are highly desirable
- Passion for working with students, families, and colleagues
- Flexibility and collaboration
- Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced, supportive environment that nurtures student growth
- Organization and ability to meet ongoing, time‑sensitive deadlines
- Alternative qualifications as appropriate and in conformity with state certification requirements

Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Provide learning experiences in language arts, social studies, reading, mathematics, science, art, physical education, and music to students, guided by the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and district standards and requirements, while creating an environment conducive to student learning and involvement;
- Monitor student understanding of the curriculum and adjust instruction, materials, and assessments when appropriate;
- Evaluate, try innovative approaches, and refine instructional strategies, including the effective use of technologies available to teachers, to increase student learning, involvement, and confidence;
