Interim Assistant Site Supervisor - Before & After School Program (Leadership role)

Starting Date: Immediately

Job Description

This position is responsible for the daily operation of a before school (Early Risers) and after school (ASAP) site. Duties include orientation, training, supervision, evaluation of program personnel, overall program design, communication with families and school personnel, and enforcement of safety and quality policies.

Responsibility: Daily operation of the ASAP site.

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field strongly preferred.
  • Experience: Four years or more of youth work in an organized setting, plus 6 months of administrative/supervisory experience or at least 3 credits in management or staff supervision.
  • Skills: Ability to lead large groups, communicate effectively with families and school personnel, supervise staff, respond proactively to challenges, multitask, collaborate, and maintain focus in a fast‑paced environment.
Essential Functions / Responsibilities
  • Maintain enrollment list and daily attendance sheets.
  • Confirm arrival of all students, initiate Missing Child Procedure when needed, and ensure all children signed out by authorized parent/guardian.
  • Ensure all children checked in/out and that staff know whereabouts of all children at all times.
  • Maintain records of students with epi‑pens, allergies, or other health concerns and implement health safety procedures.
  • Train staff in emergency response, conduct evacuation drills, and lead emergency response.
  • Plan and monitor supply orders; keep inventory and keep site materials organized.
  • Oversee and develop program staff in behavior management and curriculum planning; lead staff meetings and mediate conflicts.
  • Process staff time sheets, evaluate and respond to time‑off requests, and conduct staff evaluations (30‑day, mid‑year, final).
  • Enforce policies and document non‑compliance.
  • Assist with daily tasks:
    • Set up/put away equipment, clean activity spaces, prepare and clean up daily activities.
  • Develop activity calendar, plan special events.
  • Maintain relationships with school personnel, parents, and community; provide parent check‑ins.
  • Attend school meetings (IEP, crisis response, family care plan) and create newsletters/signage.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student and family information.
  • Participate in hiring process, conduct interviews, observe candidates on site, provide orientation and ongoing training.
  • Submit attendance, injury, incident reports; maintain accuracy and follow‑through.
Work Environment &

Physical Requirements
  • Move about classroom, school grounds, office, outdoor and off‑site locations.
  • May need to move quickly across uneven surfaces.
  • Remain stationary for periods.
  • Operate computer and related equipment.
  • Read material from computer monitor or printed matter.
  • Communicate with students, parents, and staff in person, via video, telephone, or written.
  • Ensure student safety and multitask among multiple demands.
  • Teach and support students with life‑skills (eating, cleaning, toileting).
  • Lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Work at rapid, dynamic pace with short notice and changing deadlines.
  • Noise level moderate to loud.

  • Successful completion of Criminal Records, Sexual Offender Record, and fingerprint checks.
