Job Description

Job Goal: As a high school teacher, the goal is to educate all students to high levels through high-quality instruction.

Qualifications Education
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Masters degree preferred
Professional Certification
  • Massachusetts DESE certification 9-12 in applicable field
  • SEI Endorsement
Specialized Knowledge
  • Strong foundation in student-centered pedagogy
  • Knowledge of the developmental needs of adolescents
  • Strong content-area knowledge
  • Thorough understanding of theories and teaching methodologies
  • Working knowledge of the Massachusetts Standards-Based curriculum
  • Working knowledge of the principles of UDL
  • Working knowledge of SEL instruction and supports
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice
Preferred Experience
  • Experience teaching in a diverse public school
  • Experience working with students with disabilities/special abilities
  • Experience working with students who are English language learners
  • Experience with Google Suite and Power School; training provided if needed
Skills
  • Demonstrated aptitude for work
  • Bilingual skills, especially in Spanish and Portuguese, highly desirable
  • Passion for working with students, families, and colleagues
  • Flexible and collaborative
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Establishes a functional, attractive, orderly, and safe classroom environment and builds a sense of community
