Job Title: Social Worker

Reports To: Principal, Director of Alternative Education, Director of SEL & Equity, Director of Student Services
Work days/FTE: Full time

Job GoalThe Alternative Education Program Social Worker coordinates and provides support services for students enrolled in alternative education programs who require a therapeutic learning environment throughout the school day. This role promotes students’ social‑emotional well‑being, facilitates collaboration among school, family, and community partners, and helps ensure students can access their educational program successfully.
- Support students with therapeutic interventions as group and 1:1
- Pick‑up general ed/special ed students referrals, as needed
- Attend IEP meetings for all students on caseload
- Facilitate community engagement for the alternative education program students
- Collaborate with school‑based Team members as well as home‑based Team and outside providers
- Write IEP goals and implement IEP services
- Teach therapeutic skills development classes
Master of Social Work or equivalent from an accredited institution
Professional Certification- MA DESE LCSW
- LICSW preferred
- Outstanding oral communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- An unrelenting focus on student success, safety and accountability.
- Understanding of and commitment to the principles and practices of diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice as they relate to student engagement and success.
- Two years post graduate experience working with emotionally and behaviorally challenged youth and their families
- Demonstrated aptitude for work to be performed
- Bilingual skills, especially in Spanish and Portuguese, are highly desirable
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Candidates should have a passion for working with students, families, and colleagues.
- Candidates must be flexible and collaborative.
- Candidates must be able to multitask in a fast‑paced, supportive environment that nurtures student growth.
- Candidates must be organized and able to meet ongoing, time‑sensitive deadlines for work production.
