Job Description

Job Goal

Responsible for the daily operation of a before school (Early Risers) and after school (ASAP) site, including orientation, training, supervision, and evaluation of program personnel; overall program design; communication with families and school personnel; and enforcement of safety and quality policies.

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field strongly preferred.
  • Preferred Experience: Five years or more of experience working with youth in an organized setting and at least one year of administrative and supervisory experience or at least six credits in management, administration, or staff supervision.
  • Ability to lead large groups, communicate effectively with families and school personnel, supervise staff, and respond proactively to challenges.

Alternative degrees or experience may be substituted for the above at the discretion of the Superintendent if such a substitution brings a strong candidate forward.

Essential Functions of the Job (not limited to)

  • Maintain a current enrollment list and daily attendance sheets; modify as necessary for enrollment changes.
  • Confirm arrival of all students each day; initiate Missing Child Procedure if a child does not arrive; ensure all children are signed out by an authorized parent/guardian at pick‑up.
  • Ensure all children are checked in at start of program and signed out at pick‑up.
  • Ensure staff knows whereabouts of all children in assigned groups.
  • Know and manage children with epi‑pens, food allergies, or other health concerns; maintain allergy plans; ensure supplies are current and carried as needed; maintain first aid kit and all health‑care/emergency procedures; record injuries and incidents.
  • Train staff in emergency response; administer and log evacuation drills; lead response in emergencies.
  • Alert staff when unusual circumstances may affect student behavior or safety.
  • Assemble supply orders, make monthly shopping trips, maintain supply inventory, keep site materials neat, and ensure equipment is properly used and stored.
  • Provide orientation, training, and ongoing feedback for staff development.
  • Oversee staff, build strengths‑based behavior management and curriculum planning skills, support consistent expectations, lead staff meetings, and address performance issues.
  • Complete staff evaluations and support other leaders in doing so.
