The Natick Public Schools seek a Grade 5 English Language Arts/Social Studies Teacher for Wilson Middle School. The district educates approximately 5,300 students from Pre‑K through age 22, serving a diverse community in the Greater Boston area. Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Master’s degree preferred
Professional Certification:
- MA DESE 5‑8 certification in applicable field
- MA DESE SEI endorsement
Specialized Knowledge:
- Strong foundation in student‑centered pedagogy
- Knowledge of Middle School philosophy and developmental needs of adolescents
- Thorough understanding of teaching methodologies and the academic, social, and emotional needs of middle school students
- Working knowledge of the Massachusetts Standards‑Based curriculum, UDL principles, SEL instruction and supports
- Ability to identify formal and informal assessments, differentiate instruction, and evaluate data to provide recommendations
- Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice principles
Preferred Experience:
- Teaching in a diverse public school
- Experience with students with disabilities/special abilities
- Experience with English language learners
- Experience with Google Suite and Power School
Skills:
- Demonstrated aptitude for instructional work
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Flexible, collaborative, and organized with ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment
- Bilingual skills, especially in Spanish and Portuguese, highly desirable

- Plan and deliver high‑quality, student‑centered instruction in English Language Arts and Social Studies.
- Set and maintain high expectations for all students, promoting achievement across all demographics.
- Utilize a variety of teaching techniques, strategies, materials, and technology to maximize learning.
- Assess student progress, provide feedback to students and parents, and adjust instruction based on data.
- Provide academic support and enrichment opportunities.
- Teach district learning expectations as outlined in curriculum documents.
- Demontrate knowledge of cross‑disciplinary connections and real‑world applications.
- Maintain an orderly, safe, and engaging classroom environment that fosters community.
- Practice culturally responsive communication with students, families, and colleagues.
- Collaborate with Special Educators, ELE Educators, Literacy and Math Specialists, and Instructional Leaders.
- Commit to the district vision of high expectations, equal access, and achievement of all students.
