Job Goal & Responsibilities

Responsible for the daily operation of an early‑risers and after‑school site, a creative, community service‑oriented environment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Orientation, training, supervision, and evaluation of program personnel
  • Overall program design; communication with families and school personnel
  • Enforcement of safety and quality policies, including emergency procedures
  • Maintain enrollment lists and attendance records; implement missing‑child procedures
  • Ensure child health and safety, manage allergy plans, first‑aid kits, and incident reporting
  • Lead staff meetings, mediate conflicts, support professional development
  • Coordinate supplies, inventory, and site maintenance
  • Develop activity calendar and special events
  • Establish relationships with school staff to integrate ASAP participation
  • Attend school meetings related to IEP, 504, and other supporting programs
  • Create newsletters, signage, and informational materials for parents and staff
  • Participate in staff hiring, orientation, and ongoing training
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field preferred
  • Four years or more of youth work experience in an organized setting and at least six months of administrative and supervisory experience or relevant management credits
  • Strong leadership, communication, and collaborative skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment and respond proactively to challenges
  • Passion for working with students, families, and colleagues; flexibility and teamwork

  • Phone, intercom, radios, personal computer, scanner, copy machine, calculator, camera, printers
Essential Functions

The job description is for ADA compliance and is not exhaustive. Additional duties may be assigned.

  • Maintain enrollment and attendance records
  • Confirm student arrival, initiate missing‑child procedure, and manage pick‑up sign‑out
  • Ensure staff awareness of child health concerns and maintain first‑aid kits
  • Train staff for emergency response; conduct evacuation drills; lead emergency response
  • Identify unusual circumstances affecting safety or behavior
  • Manage supply orders, inventory, and site maintenance
  • Oversee staff development, conduct evaluations, and enforce policies
  • Assist staff in equipment setup, cleaning, and activity preparation
  • Develop monthly activity calendars and special‑event plans
  • Maintain relationships with school personnel and promote ASAP participation
  • Engage with parents, address concerns, and provide check‑in information
  • Address students with IEPs, 504 plans, or home challenges
  • Attend school meetings (IEP, crisis response, family care plan)
  • Create newsletters, signage, informational materials, and confidentiality protocols
  • Attend leadership meetings, trainings, and support hiring process
  • Provide orientation and ongoing staff training throughout the year
  • Submit attendance, injury, and incident reports to ASAP office
  • Perform tasks with accuracy, thoroughness, and follow‑through
Work Environment and

Physical Requirements

  • Maintain files and access materials in school settings
  • Collaborate via video conference, telephone, and written communication
  • Observe details at close distance

  • Multitask across multiple demands from staff, families, and students
  • Provide life‑skill support to students (eating, cleaning, toileting)
  • Lift up to 25 lbs and maintain rapid pace with changing deadlines
  • Work in moderate to loud noise environment
