Qualifications- Education:
High School diploma or GED - Professional Certification: (not specified)
- Experience with Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Classroom, etc.) and Power School preferred; training available.
- Demonstrated aptitude for work to be performed
- Bilingual skills, especially Spanish and Portuguese, highly desirable
- Passion for working with students, families, and colleagues
- Flexible and collaborative
- Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced, supportive environment that nurtures student growth
- Organized, able to meet time‑sensitive deadlines for work production
Alternative degrees/experience may be substituted for the above at the discretion of the Superintendent, if such a substitution brings a strong candidate forward.
Tools and Equipment Used- Phone, intercom, personal computer and software applications, scanner, copy machine, calculator, camera, printers and fax machine.

- Work with students individually and in small groups
- Works in special education or general education settings, including reviewing and reinforcing lessons, implementing prescribed instruction
- Assists the teacher in responding to the special needs of individual students
- Accompanies students for transitions as necessary, including lifting when appropriate
- Administers or assists in administering alternative testing (classroom, district, and state assessments)
- May correct day‑to‑day work of students but not responsible for grading or reporting to parents
- Assists supervising teacher in addressing student needs
- Performs teacher‑planned learning exercises, including instruction of core curriculum, academic support, and related therapies (speech, occupational, physical, and mobility training)
- Performs classroom and other tasks designated by supervising teacher/principal
- Maintains ethical behavior and confidentiality of student information
- Participates in staff development programs as assigned
- Active member of Special Needs or Supportive Services Teams as necessary
- Establishes effective relationships with classroom teachers, specialists, and administration
- Consults with special education staff
- Assists PK‑22 year‑old students in transfer and mobilization activities and/or non‑medical hygiene assistance (e.g., diaper changes, personal hygiene)
- Another adult present for diaper changes/toileting whenever possible
- Provides service/specialized instruction in a specialized program or 1:1 environment
