Interim Assistant Site Supervisor - Before & After School Program

Location: Kennedy Middle School, Natick, Massachusetts

Reports To: ASAP Director

Work Days / FTE: 8/17/26‑12/23/26 – 1.0 Full‑Time Equivalent

Salary: $50,000 to $56,000 Per Year (Non‑Reprentable Schedule)

Benefits: Not Eligible (Aug – Dec)

Job Goal

Responsible for the daily operation of one before‑school (Early Risers) and after‑school (ASAP) site, creating a creative, community‑service‑oriented environment. Duties include, but are not limited to: orientation, training, supervision, and evaluation of program personnel; overall program design; communication with families and school personnel; and enforcement of policies and procedures regarding safety and quality.

Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field (strongly preferred).
  • Preferred Experience:
    • Four years or more of experience working with youth in an organized setting and six months of administrative and supervisory experience, or at least three credits in management, administration, or staff supervision.
    • Ability to lead large groups, communicate effectively with families and school personnel, supervise staff, and respond proactively to challenges.
  • Skills:
    • Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed.
    • Passion for working with students, families, and colleagues.
    • Flexibility, collaboration, and ability to multitask in a fast‑paced, supportive environment.
  • Alternative degrees or experience may be substituted at the discretion of the Superintendent.

  • Phone, intercom, radios, personal computer, scanner, copy machine, calculator, camera, printers.
Essential Functions of the Job
  • Maintain current enrollment lists and daily attendance sheets; update as needed.
  • Confirm arrival of all students, initiate Missing Child Procedure if a child does not arrive, and ensure all children are signed out by an authorized parent/guardian at pick‑up.
  • Ensure all children are checked in at program start and signed out at pick‑up.
  • Know or ensure staff know the whereabouts of all children at all times.
  • Maintain records of students’ epi‑pens, food allergies, other health concerns; implement health‑care and emergency procedures; keep first‑aid kits stocked; maintain injury/incident records.
  • Train staff in emergency response; administer and log evacuation drills; lead response during emergencies.
  • Alert staff if personal circumstances may affect student behavior or safety.
  • Manage supplies: order, shop monthly, maintain inventory, keep site materials neat, and ensure equipment is properly used and stored.
  • Oversee program staff, develop strengths‑based behavior management and curriculum planning skills, support consistent expectations; lead staff meetings; mediate conflicts; provide extra support for serious disciplinary infractions.
  • Handle timesheets, staff time‑off requests, and staff evaluations (30‑day, mid‑year, and final).
  • Enforce policies by documenting and meeting with non‑compliant staff.
  • Assist staff with setting up equipment, cleaning activity spaces, and daily activity preparation/cleanup.
  • Develop monthly activity calendar and plan special events.
  • Maintain positive relationships with school personnel for effective space sharing, communication, and community awareness of the ASAP program.
  • Engage parents: provide check‑ins at pick‑up, meet with parents with questions or concerns.
  • Be aware of students with IEPs, 504 plans, or other needs; differentiate services where possible.
  • Attend school meetings (IEP, crisis response, family care plan, etc.).
  • Create site‑specific newsletters, signage, and informational materials.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information about program children and families.
  • Attend leadership meetings, other meetings, or trainings as assigned.
  • Create sign‑up sheets for early release days or permission slips for special events.
  • Participate in hiring: interview and observe candidates on‑site.
  • Provide orientation, ongoing feedback, and training to all staff throughout the year.
  • Submit attendance, injury, and incident reports to the ASAP office.
  • Perform all duties with accuracy, thoroughness, and follow‑through.
