Job Description

The Natick Public Schools seek a Social Studies Teacher for High School. This role will educate students in a diverse environment with high standards and employ a strengths-based approach.

Job Goal:
Educate all students to high levels through high-quality instruction.

Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor's Degree
  • Masters degree preferred
  • Massachusetts DESE certification 9-12 in Social Studies or related field
  • SEI Endorsement
  • Strong foundation in student-centered pedagogy
  • Knowledge of adolescent developmental needs
  • Strong content-area knowledge
  • Understanding of theories, methodologies, academic, social, emotional needs
  • Working knowledge of Massachusetts Standards-Based curriculum, UDL principles, SEL instruction and supports
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice
Preferred Experience
  • Teaching experience in diverse public schools
  • Experience with students with disabilities/special abilities
  • Experience with ELL students
  • Experience with Google Suite and Power School
Skills
  • Demonstrated aptitude for instructional work
  • High verbal and written communication skills
  • Organized, able to meet deadlines
  • Flexible, collaborative
  • Multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Bilingual skills, especially Spanish and Portuguese (highly desirable)
