Profile of a Natick Educator

JOB GOAL:
Natick Public Schools Music Department is looking to add to our staff of "after school" Music teachers. We are looking for individuals to teach saxophone, clarinet, or woodwinds generally for grades 4-12 in our after school program.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Identify concepts and methods that advance playing for beginners through advanced students
  • Implement technical lessons that correspond to the standards being taught in band classes
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Teach in class, small group, duo, and private lessons
  • Employ methods that motivate students
  • Have strong classroom management skills
  • Be able to work independently
  • Prepare upper level students for recitals
  • Be positive, encouraging, and make students want to explore music more deeply
  • Maintain high expectations for performance

Schedule and workload TBD based on interest. Generally, elementary lessons are between 11 AM and 1 PM, and middle school and high school are after 2:00 PM. There is some room to make your own schedule.
