Natick Community Services—Council on Aging & Human Services Program

We are looking for a Program Assistant with excellent technical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills to join our team. Our ideal candidate will be able to engage easily with older adults and be responsible for assisting with the planning, coordination, and delivery of social, recreational, wellness, and special events.

Position Details

Work schedule:

Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a 30‑minute unpaid lunch break. Total work hours are up to 25 per week.

Compensation:
Starting pay is $23.00 to $24.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Essential Functions
  • Help develop and implement a variety of activities and programs: social, educational, recreational, arts/crafts, wellness, and special events.
  • Facilitate hybrid programs on Zoom and other online platforms.
  • Enter data into the registration software system.
  • Assist in scheduling, organizing, and facilitating classes or events.
  • Support instructors/volunteers delivering programs, including helping with set up/breakdown of events.
  • Assist with bi‑monthly luncheons, including set up, serving, clean‑up, and interacting with participants.
  • Accept and consider program feedback, comments, and ideas from participants.
  • Monitor programs held off site, as needed.
  • Answer phone calls and inquiries from vendors, instructors, and participants.
  • Provide support for program activities, such as preparing materials and resources.
  • Gather feedback from participants in a variety of ways.
  • Perform industry research to stay up-to-date with best practices and inform the development and enhancement of programs.
  • Maintain accurate records: attendance, program registration, sign‑in sheets, supply inventories, and event documentation.
  • Other duties as needed to run programs.
Education and Experience

Associate's Degree and two years of experience assisting with the planning, organizing, and implementation of programs or events, or a combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

Special Requirements
  • CPR and First Aid certified, or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
  • Must be able to pass a CORI Check.
