About the Role
ACCEPT Education Collaborative is a regional nonprofit educational organization with locations in Medway and Natick, MA. The organization delivers a wide range of programs and services—including special education for students with moderate to severe needs, specialized transportation, home‑based services, behavioral and educational consultation, and professional development—for students from Pre‑K through age 22, encompassing life‑skills and therapeutic programs. The programs address autism spectrum disorders, emotional/behavioral needs, global impairments, cognitive/intellectual disabilities, language disorders, ADHD/ADD, and non‑verbal learning disability.
PositionSummary
Provides educational and behavioral consultation services to help ACCEPT programs build capacity to serve students with low-incidence disabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Teach, conduct educational assessments, write reports and present findings at team meetings.
- Assess students’ abilities and craft teaching plans.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs for each student assigned.
- Prepare quarterly progress reports.
- Collaborate with related service providers and coordinate services for assigned students.
- Provide information and support to parents and district liaisons as appropriate.
- Coordinate completion of progress reports and team‑meeting materials with related service providers.
- Prepare and plan instruction that aligns with state frameworks and IEPs.
- Develop and implement student schedules to ensure goals are addressed meaningfully.
- Create differentiated learning environments adapted to individual needs, strengths, learning style, and communication & behavioral needs.
- Establish visual supports and routines to maximize student independence.
- Track and reflect on students’ progress.
- Monitor behavioral patterns and arrange appropriate interventions when necessary.
- Manage classroom crisis and resolve conflict.
- Prepare students for transition to the next grade.
- Coach, mentor and manage teaching assistants.
- Respond to all email requests within 24 hours.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from an accredited university.
- Valid Massachusetts license / DESE.
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a Special Education Teacher.
- Experience working with children with a wide range of disabilities.
- Proven ability to create IEPs.

- Master’s Degree in Education or a related field.

While performing the duties, the employee is regularly required to move about the school building, remain stationary for extended periods, reach with hands and arms, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and, at times, perform physical restraint of a student during behavioral escalation. The employee is expected to lift at least 20 lbs and frequently operates computers and office equipment. The role requires continuous visual and auditory communication with students, parents, and staff.
Occasionally, the employee may need to move quickly across uneven surfaces. The work environment is a normal school setting with an acceptable noise level.
- Salary:
Competitive, based on experience and education. - Salary range: $58,600 to $113,500 per year.
- Salary is based on the school year (183 days); summer pay is additional and not part of the base pay.
