As an industry manager you will use your technical knowledge of the electronics and semiconductor industry to shape and execute the company strategy to increase the adoption of MATLAB, Simulink, and Model-Based Design workflows for research, advanced engineering, and product development. You will help define the direction of future product development and refine how Math Works tools interface with EDA workflows for electronics and semiconductor design and verification.
You will collaborate with sales, marketing, engineering, and the rest of theworldwideindustry management team on the market development strategy, marketing message, supporting content, and marketing plan, as well as help define the long-term technology roadmap. Through these efforts you will enable our customers to be more successful, shape how companies in this industry perceive Math Works, and be the champion for these customers internally to ensure Math Works R&D plans are aligned with the latest market trends.

Responsibilities- Provide direction and guidance to the sales and services teams working with the electronics and semiconductor industry
- Through customer visits, understand the needs of our customers and develop messaging for how Math Works products address their design and verification requirements
- Work directly with sales teams in support of key sales opportunities and with key customers to drive product adoption
- Strategize with account managers to increase account penetration and build best practices for effectively increasing sales worldwide
- Drive awareness of Math Works within the electronics and semiconductor segment worldwide
- Develop marketing programs and supporting materials, and use the web to effectively drive promotion, and share best practices with AMER, EMEA and APAC
- Produce articles, technical papers, and user stories in support of relevant EDA workflows
- Deliver presentations at conferences and industry events and serve as a spokesperson for Math Works for this industry
- Develop business strategy for the electronics and semiconductor market segment
- Develop and execute the market segment strategy and business plan and review progress on it with an internal “board of advisors”
- Work closely with engineering staff to capture key customer needs and in development of new features and products to support these needs
- Analyze Math Works business performance, identify new market opportunities, and develop plans to increase penetration and growth
- Identify and work with critical EDA partners to provide a complete solution for customer needs
- A bachelor's degree and 10 years of professional work experience (or equivalent experience) is required.
- MS or PhD degree in relevant engineering disciplines; MBA a plus
- Strong knowledge of and experience (7+ years) in system design, prototyping, and/or verification methodologies in the field of electronic design automation (EDA), electronic circuit design, or semiconductor development
- Experience working with Math Works products (MATLAB, Simulink)
- Experience working with a leading corporation in Semiconductor, Communications, Electronics or other related industries. Prior experience working with Analog/Mixed-Signal or SERDES applications a plus.
- Experience in a customer-facing role, working with sales teams and end customers in a multi-national environment, for example product marketing, applications engineering, field engineering, or business development experience related to technical software
- Experience in working with and growing global or multi-national customer engineering groups
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to engage with internal and external audiences on technical and business conversations
- Expected travel would be around 30%
Salary range of $132,900 to $206,000 (inclusive of target commission for staff in eligible roles). In addition, Math Works offers benefits and a quarterly bonus program. Individual compensation is determined by a candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications.
