Senior Managing Engineer ADAS/AV (MS/PhD)

Phoenix, AZ (also Natick, MA; Atlanta, GA; Farmington Hills, MI; Menlo Park, CA; Irvine, CA; Los Angeles, CA)

Responsibilities
  • Manage projects from initiation to completion, communicate updates to team members, clients, and administrative staff, ensure timely delivery, and identify business development opportunities.
  • Develop and grow the Vehicle Engineering Practice by generating new business and projects.
  • Develop and manage client relationships.
  • Conduct project and cost management on casework.
  • Set up and execute various test programs, including full‑scale vehicle tests and component or control systems evaluations.
  • Continue to develop specialized expertise in automotive field such as design, performance, and testing of existing or emerging automotive technology.
  • Manage, mentor, and provide consulting work for junior consulting staff.
Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in ADAS, automated vehicles (AVs), and/or vehicle safety, vehicle and automotive system design, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States; no immigration sponsorship required.
  • Ability to leverage current client base and/or industry connections to generate new business and projects.
  • Strong client relationship management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to interact with managers, engineers, non‑technical personnel, and clients, presenting technical topics in a clear and comprehensible manner.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring experience with junior staff.
  • Field and/or lab measurement experience with good hands‑on skills.
  • Versatile, team‑oriented, willing to work overtime and travel when required.

Compensation

Base salary range: USD $ – USD $ per year. Total compensation includes base salary, annual bonus, and a 401(k) employer contribution of 7% of base salary.
