Job Description & How to Apply Below

Culmen International is seeking a Research Dietitian for Military Nutrition Research.

You will be the operational link among principal investigators, study volunteers, metabolic-kitchen and laboratory personnel, regulatory reviewers, data staff, and research partners. This is a hands-on research role for an experienced dietitian who can move comfortably between clinical research coordination, specialized diet design, participant-facing procedures, regulatory documentation, and scientific reporting.

  • Assist with research protocols, informed-consent forms, initial Institutional Review Board submissions, amendments, continuing reviews, final reports, and audit-ready regulatory files.
  • Coordinate recruitment and daily operations for multiple nutrition-focused human-subjects studies while protecting participant rights, protocol fidelity, data integrity, and Good Clinical Practice.
  • Design, formulate, analyze, and prepare specialized research diets and menus for controlled-feeding studies in a metabolic-kitchen environment using Food Processor or comparable approved software.
  • Develop study-approved nutrition education and adherence materials and document planned versus actual dietary intake.
  • Conduct body-composition and metabolic testing using DEXA, InBody, indirect calorimetry, cardiorespiratory testing, and other protocol-authorized methods.
  • Perform phlebotomy and support nutrition and lifestyle intervention protocols, including randomized, placebo-controlled studies.
  • Coordinate military ration field tests and research activities in heat, cold, altitude, or other demanding operational environments; travel within CONUS as required.
  • Analyze study data using SPSS and nutrition-analysis software and prepare tables, figures, manuscripts, technical reports, posters, and presentations.
  • Train study personnel in approved clinical data-collection procedures and protocol requirements and collaborate with multidisciplinary research teams.
  • Graduate degree in nutrition, dietetics, nutritional sciences, public health, physiology, or a related field.
  • Military, tactical, environmental-physiology, ration, or Warfighter-performance research experience.
  • Experience with DEXA, InBody, indirect calorimetry, cardiorespiratory exercise testing, SPSS, and Food Processor.
  • Experience preparing peer-reviewed manuscripts or presenting research at national scientific conferences.
