Implementation Project Manager, Benefits Benefit Scape About the Role
Benefit Scape is seeking an Implementation Project Manager - Benefits to support client benefit program implementations, ongoing benefits administration, data quality initiatives, and cross-functional project delivery. This role is ideal for someone who can translate client needs into clear requirements, manage multiple work streams, work confidently with benefits and HR data, and help ensure accurate, timely delivery for clients and internal partners.
The successful candidate will be comfortable operating in a client-facing environment, coordinating with implementation, operations, relationship management, technology, payroll, and vendor teams. Experience with HCM implementations, specifically benefits modules, and general benefits administration (Ben Admin) experience are strong pluses.
In This Role You Will- Support the implementation and ongoing servicing client lifecycle by coordinating project work streams, timelines, risks, issues, and deliverables.
- Partner with clients and internal stakeholders to gather, document, validate, and communicate business requirements for benefit program administration, data exchange, and process builds.
- Review and analyze benefits, eligibility, enrollment, payroll, and employee data to identify issues, improve data quality, and recommend practical solutions.
- Coordinate with clients, vendors, carriers, payroll providers, HCM platforms, and internal teams to support accurate benefit administration and project outcomes.
- Develop and maintain execution plans, project trackers, status updates, risk logs, and client-ready materials that clearly communicate progress, decisions, and next steps.
- Proactively monitor project progress, budgets, timelines, dependencies, and open items, making course corrections as needed to keep work on track.
- Help design, test, document, and improve repeatable processes that support scalable benefits administration and implementation delivery.
- Build strong relationships with clients and internal partners through clear communication, ownership of outcomes, and consistent follow-through.
- Support process improvements that increase accuracy, efficiency, client satisfaction, and operational scalability across Benefit Scape.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience required. MBA or related advanced degree is a plus.
- 5 to 8 years of experience in project management, benefits administration, benefits outsourcing, HR operations, consulting, client service, or implementation delivery.
- Strong understanding of health and welfare benefits administration, eligibility rules, enrollment processes, client service models, and benefits operations.
- Experience supporting client-facing implementations, ongoing administration, process builds, data conversions, or operational transitions.
- Ability to work with large data sets, identify trends or issues, validate data quality, and translate findings into clear recommendations.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities, coordinate stakeholders, track dependencies, and drive work to completion.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create client-friendly status updates, summaries, issue logs, and next-step plans.
- Strong relationship management skills with the ability to work effectively across clients, vendors, technology teams, operations teams, and leadership.
- Comfort with ambiguity, complex problem solving, and developing practical solutions in a fast-paced service environment.
- High degree of integrity, ownership, attention to detail, and follow-through.
- Experience with HCM implementations, especially benefits module configuration, testing, data migration, integrations, or go-live support.
- General benefits administration (Ben Admin) experience, including eligibility, enrollment, life events, carrier feeds, payroll deduction files, open enrollment, and issue resolution.
- Experience with benefits administration platforms, HCM systems, HRIS platforms, payroll systems, carrier portals, or data exchange processes.
- Experience supporting health and welfare, ACA, COBRA, leave, defined contribution, defined benefit, or other employee benefit programs.
- Experience working in a consulting, benefits outsourcing, professional services, or client-facing HR technology environment.
- Data analysis, reporting, or visualization experience using Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
- Client projects are well organized, clearly communicated, and delivered with strong attention to accuracy and timelines.
- Benefits administration issues are identified early, documented clearly, and resolved through practical cross-functional action plans.
