Junior Custodian II – Nights (Monday–Friday, 2:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.)

The Town of Natick's Facilities Department is seeking a dedicated, qualified, and ambitious self-starter who is committed to working effectively within a team environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for all custodial operations within the assigned building, including scheduled and emergency cleaning, event functions, and general maintenance. This role also requires flexibility, as the Junior Custodian II will be expected to substitute for other Junior Custodian II roles as needed.

Starting Hourly Rate: $23.2504 (Step
1); full pay scale $23.2504 – $28.4334 per hour with step increases outlined in the union agreement.

• Responsible for all custodial and building operations in assigned buildings, including scheduled and emergency cleaning and functions.
• Perform light maintenance and operate a BMS system controlling all HVAC systems.
• Use a computer for emails, work orders, BMS system, and other tasks.
• Apply knowledge of building operations to perform cleaning and maintenance duties, such as vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, washing, waxing, carpet cleaning, dusting, polishing, window cleaning, trash removal, and recycling.
• Substitute for Senior Custodians as needed.
• Substitute for other Junior Custodian II roles as needed.

• Operate boiler, replace light bulbs, and perform minor preventive maintenance on equipment, machinery, and systems.
• Clean filters, perform light maintenance.
• Maintain exterior grounds and mow lawns.
• Perform mandatory snow removal.
• Assist in moving furniture, equipment, or machinery as required.
• Lead assigned Junior I custodians on shift and temporary summer or part-time help.
• Perform roof drain clearing and maintenance.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

• Minimum of three (3) years of custodial or commercial cleaning experience demonstrating reliability, initiative, and attention to detail.
• Ability to deal tactfully with all building occupants and exhibit excellent communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of industrial and office cleaning equipment, materials, and procedures; ability to operate commonly used power cleaning equipment.
• Responsible for using safety devices, protective equipment, and safe practices and methods in operation and supply handling.

• Work in a standard building environment including walking, standing, bending, and climbing stairs (up to three stories).
• Move or lift up to 75 pounds; climb and safely work on ladders.
