Job Summary
The purpose of this position is to provide general nursing care and leadership while working collaboratively with physicians and multidisciplinary caregivers to promote and restore patients' health. The role involves providing, delegating, evaluating, and coordinating comprehensive professional nursing care for patients of all ages, genders, cultures, and backgrounds. Core responsibilities include applying the nursing process, determining care objectives within the physician's plan of surgical/medical care, and adhering to standards of nursing practice, legal regulations, and the ambulatory surgery center policies and procedures.
Additional duties may entail cost containment, efficiency initiatives, and quality performance support.
Actively promotes and maintains an organizational culture that enhances the center as the best place to work and receive care.
Participates in staff meetings, department meetings, in‑services, and educational requirements.
Maintains a cooperative relationship among all caregivers through clear communication, request response, rapport building, and team problem solving.
Provides care to patients utilizing the nursing process to facilitate a positive peri‑operative experience.
Establishes a compassionate environment by offering emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends.
Implements a plan to keep patients’ families/friends informed of progress if delays occur in any area of care.
Peri‑operative assessment of surgical patients based on procedure type, anesthesia, protocols, and patient needs.
Demonstrates effective communication and interpersonal skills while assessing patient understanding of the procedure and providing information and emotional support.
Implements proper clinical protocols that ensure patient safety, comfort, and quality of care.
Demonstrates knowledge of the Surgery Center’s current policies and procedures.
Provides nursing interventions to assure compliance with established standards, policies, procedures, and best practice.
Anticipates potential patient problems and takes preventive measures.
Willingness to cross‑train/float when opportunities arise.
Flexibility to support fluctuating staffing needs by adjusting assignments and work schedules.
Ensures availability of supplies and proper functioning of equipment necessary for patient care.
Contributes to supply stocking and housekeeping to support patient care and maintain a safe, clean environment.
Assists with stripping, cleaning, and setting up the OR suite for own or others’ cases with efficiency and speed.
Validates desired outcomes through accurate patient record documentation.
Communicates orally and in writing to develop and disseminate the patient’s plan of care to all caregivers.
Facilitates continuity of patient care through verbal reports to the appropriate caregivers.
Protects patients and co‑workers by adhering to infection control policies, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
Delegates patient care activities to support personnel according to their level of knowledge and expertise.
Demonstrates initiative and collaborates professionally with caregivers inside and outside the OR suite.
Promotes teamwork by assisting with the precepting of new caregivers.
Identifies conflict areas, intervenes effectively, or seeks assistance in conflict resolution.
Opportunity: $10,000 sign‑on bonus eligible.
No holidays, nights, or on‑call shifts.
Day‑time hours, Monday–Friday.

Completion of a minimum of two (2) years of education at an accredited School of Nursing to be eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse.
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in Ambulatory Surgery, Outpatient Surgery, or OR nursing.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS) or AHA‑approved equivalent.
American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within one (1) year of hire.
