Beauty Counter Manager – Tom Ford – Natick Mall Job Description

The Beauty Counter Manager plays a dual role – part salesperson, part teacher – while maximizing sales in their assigned beauty brand. Ideal candidates are results-oriented, thrive in a commissioned sales environment, are passionate about beauty trends, and can build a customer following both in‑store and digitally.
A Day in the Life- Conduct makeup applications and skincare analyses, recommending products based on customers’ beauty goals
- Collaborate with team members to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all customers
- Set and achieve personal and counter sales goals, utilizing both in‑store and digital selling tools (including text and social media)
- Manage the scheduling and execution of vendor events and promotions
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to maximize business results
- Keep the department customer‑ready through organization and cleanliness
- Keep up with the latest beauty trends, products, and industry knowledge through trainings provided by Nordstrom and luxury brand partners
- Manage sales, refunds, exchanges, and build customer loyalty by opening new Nordstrom Rewards program accounts
- Passion for customer service and beauty, including trends, makeup application, and skincare
- Excellent ability to connect with customers, proactively handle concerns, and contribute to a positive team environment
- Empathy and respect for all customers, providing a supportive environment during makeup and skincare application
- Strong multitasking, organization, and follow‑through skills
- Drive to achieve sales goals, with interest in using networking and technology
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including evenings and weekends
- High level of ownership, accountability, and initiative
- Physical Requirements:
- Continuous movement for 6‑8 hours per shift, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching to handle merchandise and assist customers
- Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling
- Handling bulky and awkwardly shaped items, lifting above the head as needed
- Regularly lifting items up to 10 pounds, occasionally up to 25 pounds
$24.00 - $25.00 Hourly. Commission for beauty and men’s fragrance sales is typically 3%. (Commission rates and pay may vary by location and individual experience.)
