Join our team as a Shortage Control Associate and help create a safer shopping environment while delivering exceptional customer service. As an SCA, you will be the frontline presence at entrances, exits, and high‑risk areas, reducing theft and enhancing the overall customer experience.
Responsibilities- Maintain a professional appearance and security posture while stationed at the front of the store.
- Greet every customer and associate with a confident, friendly, and energetic welcome.
- Monitor store entrances for the duration of each shift, deterring shoplifting and other dishonest activities.
- Report theft incidents and suspicious activity to the Manager on Duty promptly.
- Conduct bag and package checks of associates in accordance with safety and security standards.
- Assist in training staff on shortage reduction programs and promote safety as a top priority.
- Communicate theft prevention information during store rallies and collaborate with leadership.
- 1+ year of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, asset protection, loss prevention, or operations (preferred).
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while visually monitoring the store environment.
- Strong communication skills with customers and co‑workers.
- Confidentiality, analytical thinking, and the ability to interpret business trends.
- Positive demeanor, strong posture, and energetic greeting.
- Capacity to work in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment with disciplined decision‑making.
- Excellent leadership skills that support productive business relationships.
Competitive hourly wage of $15.00, flexible hours (including nights, weekends, and holidays), an associate discount, and potential eligibility for benefits such as medical coverage and a 401(k) plan for part‑time workers after qualifying hours. Part‑time associates may also accrue up to four hours of paid time off annually after one year of service, up to eight paid holidays, and paid sick time in accordance with law.
