Job Description

M.S. Walker is looking to add a new Fine Wine Sales Representative for our Fine Wine team! This role will serve off‑premise accounts in a growth‑oriented territory, ideal for someone with experience selling fine wine and skill in supporting and prospecting top‑tier clients. Responsibilities include achieving maximum sales profitability by selling products to customers and soliciting new business for the company along with providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Contact new and existing premier retail customers to discuss their product needs through a relationship‑based approach.
  • Quote prices and answer customer questions about products, prices and availability.
  • Emphasize product features based on analyses of customer needs and knowledge of product.
  • Maintain customer records using automated system.
  • Prepare sales contracts for orders obtained, and submit orders for processing.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to exchange information, such as selling strategies or marketing information.
  • Coordinate efforts with sales administration and purchasing on contract orders.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of fine wine varietals and international wines, including M. S. Walker products, current prices, vintages, regional identity, awards and press.
  • Hold weekly in‑person review with each customer account for items to be replenished; present all current programs, quota items, and company initiatives.
  • Strategize how best to achieve sales and merchandising objectives on a monthly basis; maintain accurate historical account purchase information; achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales growth in line with stated overall Fine Wine Division sales goals.
  • Communicate with management on all sales issues, inventory levels and out‑of‑stock situations due to possible fluctuations in demand.
  • Maintain professional and industry knowledge by attending educational workshops, trade shows, conventions, reviewing professional publications and establishing personal networks.
  • Prospect, research and cold‑call restaurants, catering organizations and large‑scale hospitality organizations.
  • Accomplish other duties as assigned.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Prior beverage alcohol sales experience preferred.
  • Strong prospecting and relationship‑building skills.
  • Highly organized and execution‑focused at store level.
  • Thrives in a growth environment and can identify distribution opportunities.
  • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs occasionally.
  • Active driver’s license.

Pay Range

Commission based with an estimated annual earnings of $80,000 – $90,000.
