Job DescriptionWorking with Math Works in-house Facilities HVAC Technicians, Building Automation Manager, and other Facilities Staff, the HVAC Operations and Maintenance Technician will assist in the day-to-day operations and maintenance of HVAC equipment, Building Management Systems, and associated auxiliary equipment at the Math Works Natick campuses in Natick, MA. The schedule for the position is day shift, Monday through Friday. Must be able to provide non-business hours support as needed, including participation in the on-call rotation.

- Monitor, troubleshoot, and diagnose HVAC systems for operation & performance.
- Manage Building Operations using Building Management System and provide periodic on-call support to monitor all building systems.
- Schedule, conduct, and/or monitor HVAC maintenance by coordinating with vendors in response to service requests.
- Utilize the company work order system to track and document all company equipment, vendor repairs, operations, and history.
- Support ongoing construction and maintenance activities by helping to monitor and support HVAC vendors conducting installations, maintenance, or repairs.
- Conduct regular site tours and ensure efficient operation of all HVAC systems and equipment.
- Review system operations and efficiencies with Facilities team on a regular basis and provide recommendations for operational adjustments and energy reduction opportunities. Use fault detection and diagnostic software to troubleshoot and proactively identify issues.
- Recommend capital improvements and operational changes for existing facilities to support corporate sustainability initiatives.
- 12 years of professional work experience is required.
- Massachusetts Journeyman Refrigeration License preferred.
- EPA Refrigerant Recovery Certificate Universal.
- OSHA 10.
- Experience in the operation and maintenance of building HVAC system monitored and/or controlled by building automation systems (BAS). Tridium Niagara a plus.
- Experience with operating and troubleshooting HVAC controls utilizing Fault Detection Diagnostic Software. Clockworks experience a plus.
- Experience with package rooftop units and air distribution systems.
- Experience with the maintenance and repair of kitchen refrigeration equipment.
- Knowledge of gas-fired hot water heating systems, boilers, heat pumps, central chiller plant operations, chilled water-cooling systems, cooling towers, and water treatment. This includes the repair, replacement, and adjustment of system operations. Experience working in a corporate office environment a plus.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Windows, Outlook Email and Teams).
- Experience with computerized work order system, Nuvolo a plus.
- Ability to read technical diagrams, blueprints/floor plans, schematics, and specifications.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
