Job Description

Natick Public Schools seeks a Speech and Language Pathologist for Natick High School. The role supports students from Pre‑K to early career levels through early intervention, specialized therapy, and inclusive classroom strategies.

The Speech and Language Pathologist will provide screening, diagnostic assessment, and therapy services to referred students, supporting skill development in articulation, language, oral motor, voice, dysfluency, and phonemic awareness. Services may be delivered through Seamless Services or Individualized Education Plans.

Responsibilities
  • Provide clear, evidence‑based speech and language therapy to students of all ages.
  • Administer and interpret assessments, diagnose speech and language disorders, and develop treatment plans.
  • Coordinate evaluations and therapy with the Child Study Team, 504, and Special Education teams.
  • Document progress, prepare quarterly reports, and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to implement in‑class strategies and accommodations.
  • Lead and supervise certified Speech and Language Therapist Assistants.
  • Maintain and oversee therapy equipment, and stay current with assistive technologies and new treatment methods.
  • Travel and meet with students, families, and community partners as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
  • Licensed Speech and Language Pathologist; ASHA certification is preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal abilities.
  • Proactive commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice.
  • Experience working with children in the relevant age group and diverse public school settings.
  • Bilingual skills, particularly Spanish or Portuguese, are highly desirable.
  • Organized, detail‑oriented, flexible, and able to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
Tools & Equipment
  • Phone, intercom, personal computer, software applications, scanner, copy machine, calculator, camera, printers, and fax machine.
Physical & Work Environment
  • Move within classrooms and school grounds, sometimes across uneven surfaces.
  • Operate computers and assistive technology.
  • Communicate effectively in person, via video, on the phone, and in writing.
  • Support students with life‑skills development such as eating, cleaning, and toileting.
  • Lift up to 25 lbs; moderate to loud noise environment.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Lead and supervise certified Speech and Language Therapist Assistants, oversee treatment area and equipment, and manage caseload distribution.

Selection Guidelines
  • Formal application and evaluation of education and experience.
  • Oral interviews, reference check, and record of work performance.
  • Successful completion of background checks (C.O.R.I., S.O.R.I.) and fingerprints.
