Speech and Language Pathologist

Speech and Language Pathologist (3194R)

Location: Districtwide/ Memorial School

Reports To: Principal, Special Education Coordinator, Director of Student Services

Provides screening, diagnostic assessment, and therapeutic services to students under the district's special education and seamless services programs. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, planning and implementing individualized speech and language therapies, collaborating with staff and families, maintaining documentation, and supervising speech therapy assistants.

• Model exemplary communication practices; administer and interpret assessments.
• Schedule students for evaluation and therapy services.
• Provide therapy screening, write assessments, and prescriptions.
• Collaborate with 504 and special education meetings; offer accommodations.
• Train staff on therapy goals and classroom implementation.
• Maintain protocols for equipment, documentation, and reports.
• Supervise certified speech therapy assistants and implement district procedures.
• Travel to meet schedule assignments.

• Education:
  
  Bachelor's Degree.
• Certified Licensed Speech and Language Pathologist; ASHA certification preferred.
• Experience with children in relevant age groups; experience in diverse public school settings.
• Strong oral and written communication; interpersonal skills; work ethic; detail-oriented.
• Ability to multitask in fast‑paced environment; flexible, collaborative, and organized.
• Bilingual skills (Spanish, Portuguese) highly desirable.

• Background check; criminal and sexual offender records check; fingerprints.
• Experience rating, oral interview, reference check.

Regularly moves in classrooms, school grounds, or off‑site; may travel. Requires operational computer, reading, and occasional lifting up to 25 lbs. Noise moderate to loud.
