Pipe Fitters 2 fabricate and join metal pipes, valves, and fittings, and layout for installation from prints, diagrams, work orders, and/or verbal instructions using hand and powered hand tools. They must be familiar with OSHA requirements for safety and hot work onboard naval vessels.
Duties- Ability to interpret and fabricate piping system components using prints, written and/or verbal directions in a shop environment.
- Accomplish removals, preparation, and installation of reused and new materials onboard naval vessels.
- Successfully complete brazing qualification requirements per 0900-LP-001-7000.
- Familiarity with the workmanship requirements of the following:
- MIL‑STD‑22, Welded Joint Design
- S9074‑AR‑GIB‑, Requirements for Fabrication Welding and Inspection, and Casting Inspection and Repair for Machinery, Piping, and Pressure Vessels
- 0900‑LP‑001‑7000, Fabrication, and Inspection of Brazed Piping Systems
- Understand the requirements of NSI 009‑09, Process Control Procedure (PCP).
- Understand the requirements of NSI 009‑12, Weld, Fabricate, and Inspect.

Education / Experience Required- Must be 18 years old.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Completed a structured welding program.
- Must have a valid California driver's license.
- Must possess basic skills (reading, writing and mathematical skills).
- A plus, previous experience in a ship repair environment.
- Understand the Naval Ship Repair requirements and working environment.
This is a full‑time position requiring 40+ hours of work per week. M‑F 0600 – 1430 (or as otherwise assigned by Project Manager) with pre‑scheduled overtime as needed.
Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a shipyard work environment.
TravelThis position does require ability to travel.
Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be available to work at heights, confined spaces and have ability to climb staircases and ladders of varying sizes. May involve carrying objects that weigh up to 50 lbs., frequent stooping, bending, crawling, reaching, and walking.

- Completion of a satisfactory background check
- Passing a drug test and physical examination
- Eligibility to work in the US.
- Obtaining DBIDS level security clearance.
