Paradise Valley Hospital is the South Bay’s oldest hospital and the second oldest hospital in all of San Diego County. As the largest employer in National City, it has served San Diego faithfully for more than 100 years. The 291‑bed acute care hospital features the San Diego Spine & Joint Center, an acute rehabilitation center, the Paradise Health & Senior Center, a modern cardiac catheterization lab, and comprehensive inpatient, outpatient surgical services along with 24‑hour emergency care.

In addition to healthcare services, the campus offers comprehensive behavioral health services, including psychiatric continuum of care for adults, inpatient services, and intensive outpatient services.

The House Supervisor is a Registered Nurse who assumes administrative responsibility for the management of all department service functions on his/her shift. The role involves making frequent rounds throughout the facility to monitor care delivery, oversee quality of services, and direct patient care activities when needed. The supervisor directly supervises, supports, and communicates with all staff house‑wide. In the absence of Hospital Administrative staff, the scope extends to all services within the hospital.

Key responsibilities include ensuring efficient operations and patient flow, performing direct patient care as needed within scope of practice, deploying and orienting temporary agency personnel in compliance with policy, assisting medical staff with scheduling of after‑hour procedures, coordinating on‑call staff, and enhancing the patient/family experience through supportive interactions.

• Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintenance thereafter.
• ACLS certificate within 30 days upon hire and maintenance thereafter.
• One (1) year of prior supervisory experience preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years of acute care nursing experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Paradise Valley Hospital offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, a 401(k) retirement plan, medical, dental, and vision coverage, tuition reimbursement, and other voluntary benefit options. The reasonable compensation estimate for this role ranges from $51.84 to $71.46 per hour, inclusive of wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation. Final compensation will be determined at the time of selection based on skill set, experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
