Job Description

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

Be visible, greet, engage, and assist customers actively.

Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.

Understand the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle various tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures according to company policy.

Adhere to the company's cash shortage and overage limits and work honestly to control loss.

Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).

Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.

Follow established policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.

Stay current with advertisements and promotions.

Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures.

Identify unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues and notify management.

Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.

Create a welcoming environment for customers and assist with product inquiries.

Comply with all relevant laws and company guidelines.

Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.

Manage conflict in a nonconfrontational manner.

Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.

Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.

Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.

Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

Minimum Position Qualifications:

Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction).

Desired Previous Job

Experience:

Experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk preferred.
