Position
2ND SHIFT SAW OPERATOR (Full Time, Permanent Opportunity)
LocationNaugatuck, CT
ScheduleMonday-Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
CompanyPennsylvania Steel is a leading distributor of steel and aluminum. We are a privately and veteran owned business, established in 1972 and now operating 11 locations as one of the largest Steel Service Centers in the eastern United States.
Job Description- Operating automatic cold saw and band saw
- Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements
- Ability to work with quality inspection tools including micrometers and calipers and perform basic dimensional tolerances
- Monitor machine operation for continued accuracy throughout cutting processes
- Prioritize workload to meet customer requirements and company performance goals
- Ability to read micrometers and tape measures
- Forklift experience
- Must be able to lift 50lbs.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Detail oriented and able to multi-task
- Familiar with basic computer systems
