Assembly Technician
The Assembly Technician position will play a key role within a team that will work together to assemble our customer’s product. The ability to perform effectively in a manufacturing environment and in conjunction with meeting delivery schedules and customer requirements is critical to this position.
What You’ll Do- Perform various tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies such as cables and harnesses.
- Production of wire harness and cable assemblies using hand and/or power tools, including specialized crimpers, drills, soldering tools, screwdrivers, torque wrenches, wire strippers, precision measuring instruments, etc.
- Work collaboratively with the Engineering team to correct and improve any documents related to the assembly process.
- Be trained and certified to IPC/WHMA-A-620 and IPC-A-610, J-Std-001.
- Route and tie wires to form wire harnesses used in electrical equipment.
- Determine and identify materials needed and sequence of assembly.
- Ensure the wire harness meets quality standards by testing the wires with a tester.
- Form wire harness by wrapping and tying wires together.
- Complete the assembly of the harness by color, length of the wire, and marking.
- 1-2 years of experience in the aerospace or electrical industry.
- High school degree or equivalent experience in the electronic industry.
- Able to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to read and comprehend procedures.
- Familiarity with assembly tools, processes, and terminology.
- Must understand proper crimping and stripping methods.
- Ability to distinguish colors is required.
- Technical knowledge of electronics and mechanical designs.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with a minimum of direct supervision.
- Understanding or experience with regulatory requirements and general safety.
- Self‑motivated team player.
- U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) or asylee/refugee status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) required.
- ITAR requirement.
- 120.15. Some positions will require current U.S. Citizenship due to contract requirements.
