The Manager – Regulatory Affairs will be responsible for overseeing, managing, and ensuring end‑to‑end compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and accreditation requirements applicable to a Maharashtra State Private University. This includes liaison with bodies such as the University Grants Commission (UGC) , All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) , Department of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Maharashtra , and various national and international ranking and accreditation agencies .
The ideal candidate brings substantial experience in managing regulatory functions in a university setting—preferably within Maharashtra—and possesses strong communication, legal understanding, and stakeholder management skills.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Regulatory Compliance & Governance
Ensure full compliance with all regulations, notifications, and guidelines issued by:
UGC , AICTE , MoE , Dept of Higher and Technical Education , Govt. of Maharashtra , and similar authorities.
Prepare, review, and file mandatory reports, proposals, affidavits, returns, and submissions as required.
Monitor regulatory updates and proactively assess implications for the university’s operations and academic offerings.
Maintain and update statutory documents, approvals, affiliation records, and institutional compliance calendars.
Liaison & Coordination
Serve as the primary point of contact for all regulatory bodies, accreditation agencies, and government departments.
Coordinate inspections, audits, visits, approvals, and correspondence with external authorities.
Work closely with internal stakeholders (academics, administration, legal, finance, admissions) to ensure coordinated compliance.
Accreditation & Ranking
Lead the process for national/international accreditation frameworks (e.g., NAAC, NBA , or others as applicable).
Coordinate data collection, documentation, and submission for ranking platforms (e.g., NIRF , international rankings).
Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely submission of data.
Policy Development & Documentation
Help in Drafting, reviewing, and updating policies, SOPs, and compliance frameworks aligned with regulatory requirements.
Maintain comprehensive documentation for audits, statutory reviews, and university councils/boards.
Risk Management
Identify compliance gaps and develop corrective action plans.
Provide guidance to leadership on regulatory risks and mitigation strategies.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
Master’s degree in any discipline.
Minimum 5–10 years of experience in regulatory affairs within a university or higher education institution.
Strong understanding of UGC, AICTE, and state government compliance frameworks—particularly in Maharashtra .
