DPSS- Personal Assistant Cimla

Pen Picture of the Person Requiring Assistance: I am a 21 year old man living in the Cimla area with my family. I have Autism and Epilepsy, and I experience seizures daily. I am a very quiet and gentle young man, and I need a PA to encourage me to go out, help me access the community and bring me out of my shell.

I enjoy going out to the cinema, walking and bowling. At home I like to play my Xbox, watch films, You Tube & Tik Tok videos. I can be very anxious and require supervision at all times when we are out, as I have no road safety or danger awareness.

• Support me to access the community.
• Support me when experiencing an epileptic seizure – training will be provided.
• Supervise me closely when crossing roads and car parks.
• Supervising me when we’re out and helping me to stay safe.
• Any other reasonable tasks.

• Someone supportive who will encourage and motivate me
• Someone who will be confident in supporting me with my epilepsy – training will be provided.
• Is able to work professionally & flexibly.
• Will treat me with dignity and respect.
• Some experience of supporting adults with Autism would be an advantage but not essential.
• Is proactive.
• Car driver essential
• Is trustworthy, reliable and punctual
• Is caring, patient and understanding
• Is friendly and chatty
