Auto Electrician / Installation Engineer – Neath, Wales

Pay: £17.75 per hour (£18.00 per hour after probation)

Hours:

Monday – Thursday, 07:00 – 16:00 (30-min unpaid break)
Early Finish Friday, 07:00 – 12:00

Contract:

Permanent

Earning Potential (OTE)

Hourly Rate (starting): £17.75 per hour

Hourly Rate (after probation): £18.00 per hour

Basic Salary (after probation): £36,504 per year

Overtime Rate:
Paid at time-and-a-half (1.5x)

Realistic OTE: £40,150 – £40,700+ per year

Overview
We need an experienced Auto Electrician / Installation Engineer for a well-established bodybuilding manufacturing facility in Neath.

This role offers a condensed week – you finish at 12pm every Friday. You'll install electrical wiring harnesses, lighting, and ancillary equipment on bespoke commercial vehicle builds.

Key Responsibilities

Install and fit electrical wiring harnesses and lighting to commercial vehicles

Carry out marker lamp installations in line with Type Approval legislation

Fit electrical and ancillary equipment to specification

Work from job sheets and ensure jobs are completed efficiently

Support with apprentice training where required

What You'll Need

Experience in electrical installations within commercial vehicles

Good mechanical understanding alongside electrical work

Experience working on bespoke vehicle builds

Ability to read and interpret job specs and instructions

Ideally a recognised engineering apprenticeship or similar
