Maintenance Technician Mechanical

As a Mechanical Technician, you will join an established Mechanical Team within our Nickel Refinery which is an upper tier COMAH site and be responsible for the delivery of preventative/proactive maintenance of Mechanical systems and its sub or support systems, attending to any reactive/corrective maintenance that arises, fault finding, completing any repairs/replacements/calibration or set-up, installation of new systems/equipment, commissioning alongside operations on returning to service.

This role requires an experienced, industrial, mechanically biased, maintenance technician who is able to demonstrate and execute a wide range of practical Mechanical skills, ranging from basic workshop skills including working on mechanical rotational equipment to working out on plant in a methodical & logical manner such that reactive faults can be identified and repaired safely, alongside working proactively on planned maintenance routines scheduled by our Maintenance planner.

The role supports the production units by utilising specialist knowledge and skill to undertake scheduled and corrective Maintenance work as well as responding to breakdowns during normal and outside normal working hours (Call out Rota).

The role requires the ability to work at height and in confined spaces together with the wearing of BA equipment to facilitate confined space entry when necessary.

The ideal candidate must have served a full mechanical apprenticeship and have completed BTEC National/ Higher National certification.

Must demonstrate excellent teamwork, communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.

Displays good attention to detail, basic IT/record‑keeping ability, and a willingness to support continuous improvement.
