Position SummaryThe Engineering Manager oversees the planning, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing processes and equipment to maintain proper product functionality as well as cost efficiency. Ensures the engineering, maintenance teams and other manufacturing departments are aligned and working toward shared goals. Responsible for directing the maintenance of equipment to aid in the manufacturing process.
Position Responsibilities- Manages the manufacturing /plant engineering function including planning, budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, safety, and quality. 25%
- Directs the focus of maintenance department, supervises maintenance supervisor. 25%
- Manages all engineering projects for all production departments to include Estimates of production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for leadership decisions. Investigates and resolves manufacturing problems to optimize product performance while minimizing cost. 25%
- Directs tool repairs, equipment rebuilds and maintenance of the manufacturing facility. 20%
- Other duties as assigned. 5%
- 7+ years of manufacturing engineer experience.
- Strong attention to detail, high-energy, self-starter and quick to learn.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a team environment.
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing and/or chemical processing.
- Strong technical skills and eager to take on challenges.
- Strong management skills in a manufacturing plant.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Industrial Engineering or combination of Associate’s degree or equivalent plus ten (10) + years of manufacturing and engineering experience. Lean Six Sigma certification, preferred.
