Responsibilities
SLP-CF must complete a minimum of 36 weeks (for full-time employment) Clinical Fellowship under supervision by a licensed, ASHA-certified SLP.SLP-CF must complete all requirements for provisional licensure (if applicable to the state) and practice according to state licensure requirements and professional standards for the duration of the provisional license and Clinical Fellowship. If no provisional licensure exists in the state, must meet CMS supervision requirements for patients with Medicare during the Clinical Fellowship.Communicates status of Clinical Fellowship and licensure to the direct supervisor and Director of Rehab in a timely manner, including documentation and receipt of CCC and permanent license.SLP-CF is not eligible to provide supervision to students during the Clinical Fellowship.Meets productivity standards for the rehab gym, or as directed by the Director of Rehab/Clinical Operations Area Director.Attends and contributes to patient care, staffing conferences, and related meetings.Makes referrals to other disciplines or agencies to address the comprehensive needs of the patient.Consults with rehabilitation team to select the most appropriate therapeutic regimen for each patient.Adapts program and/or plan of care according to patient needs.Promotes a safe environment and enforces elimination of fire and safety hazards.Orders supplies and equipment as necessary.Cleans, maintains, identifies, and reports the need for repair of equipment.Puts patient service first, ensuring residents and families receive high-quality service in a caring atmosphere that respects individual needs and rights.Screens, examines, and evaluates patients, including history, systems review, appropriate tests and measures, synthesis of information, interpretation of findings, and development of diagnosis and treatment plans in collaboration with patients and caregivers.Coordinates acquisition of adaptive communication devices and instructs patients in their use.Facilitates identification of hearing deficits and refers for assessment, rehabilitation, and/or personal amplification as appropriate.Selects activities suited to the individual's physical and mental capacity, interests, and needs.Instructs patients in skills for participation in therapeutic activities and evaluates progress, attitude, and behavior related to rehabilitative potential.Performs routine reexaminations as needed to modify or progress the plan of treatment.Performs other related duties as required.Qualifications
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, or a similarly titled area acceptable to the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.The Speech-Language Pathologist must be licensed, certified, or credentialed as required in the state of practice.Salary: USD $37.00 - USD $41.00 /Hr.
