Senior Accountant (15 Month Contract) - Legal Firm

Do you have at least 5 years work experience in-house accounting in a law firm and/or professional services environment? My client is looking for a seasoned accountant to take over a senior portfolio for a fixed term period.

Candidates who are immediately available and/or possess prior experience within legal or professional services firms will be given priority consideration.

• Manage end-to-end accounts payable processes, including voucher creation and payment processing
• Handle client billing and WIP management using an enterprise billing system
• Generate billing reports, monitor aged WIP, and process write-offs in accordance with company policies
• Maintain fixed asset registers and prepare reconciliations in compliance with IFRS standards
• Support month-end closing activities, journal postings, and balance sheet schedules
• Assist with transactional closing procedures, including remittances, banking coordination, and fund transfers
• Prepare weekly cash position reports and support currency conversion/funding requests
• Assist with internal and external audit processes, including reconciliations and audit documentation
• Maintain compliance registers relating to client monies
• Perform ad-hoc accounting and administrative duties as assigned

• Degree in Accountancy or ACCA Level 3 qualification
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within the legal or professional services industry
• Experience handling client accounts, billing, and transactional closings will be advantageous
• Strong attention to detail with a proactive and resourceful mindset
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, lookups)
