Job DescriptionThis position assists with clerical duties, compiles and checks documents, records and reports to confirm accuracy and completeness, monitors the status of information, processes requests or transactions, and provides the supervisor or other employees with information for making decisions for the Division of Medicaid & Long-Term Care and Economic Assistance.

- Meet federal time frames related to the processing of Medicaid & Long-Term Care and Economic Assistance applications and public assistance referrals.
- Review applications and referrals to ensure they are appropriate, close duplicate cases, and facilitate merging of duplicate persons and cases.
- Use the state computer system to keep case information current.
- Build accurate cases that allow case managers to move efficiently to the next phase of Medicaid & Long-Term Care and Economic Assistance applications.
- Assist with clerical duties.
- Compile and check documents, records and reports to confirm accuracy, completeness, and status of information; process requests or transactions; and provide the supervisor or other employees with information for making decisions.
- Minimum:
Coursework or training in administrative or office‑support functions, procedures, and methods, including operation of personal computers and office equipment; research; or related areas relevant to the programs and functions of the employing agency. - OR experience in customer service or public contact; applying criteria or regulations; and/or performing administrative, office, or secretarial support work including the use of personal computers and office equipment.
- Knowledge of program‑administrative work assigned to the position, sources of information, principles and practices of record keeping.
- Ability to formulate and recommend alternative courses of action, communicate in person, by telephone, computer, email or correspondence, summarize technical data and research results, understand and apply instructions and policies, implement decisions, learn the organizational structure and policies, and take actions to achieve work objectives.
