Probate Research Clerk
The Probate Clerk shall be responsible for performing a variety of office and clerical assignments. Duties include, but are not limited to, obtaining death, marriage, divorce, and birth certificates of the deceased family members. Working closely with the Bureau of Indian Affairs Probate Office.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Notify the Bureau of Indian Affairs of any death within the Omaha Tribe of Nebraska membership. Stating the Date of Death and contact information of the family.
- Record any name changes, marriages, adoption, or court certified copy of the decedent's last will and testament.
- Respond with the BIA Probate Office with the requested information.
- Supervised by the Enrollment Director and will report to the Director with any concerns or questions.
- Schedule of Monday thru Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Education and/or experience:
- Associates Degree required
- Previous experiences with clerical duties, filing, shredding, and scanning.
Certificates, licenses, and/or registrations:
- Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug test
- A valid driver's license with an insured vehicle
Knowledge, skills, and/or abilities:
- Must sign a General Knowledge of the Privacy Act and the Confidentiality of Records.
Must pass background check and pre-employment drug screen.
