Responsibilities
- Manage, write, and track all Reconditioning, PDI, and Inventory Recall orders.
- Communicate, allocate work, supervise, and train a team of technicians and porters to ensure efficient reconditioning processes.
- Ensure efficient and timely processing of used vehicle reconditioning, PDI’s, and recall completion for all new and used vehicles.
- Support and achieve the Auto Nation four‑day turnaround target.
- Maintain a schedule of Reconditioning/PDI technician and porter absences for training, vacation or personal reasons to assure proper staffing.
- Identify all store inventory with open recalls, schedule and complete recall work when parts are available.
- Liaise with parts and service teams for timely recall completion and with other company or non‑company stores for recall work on non‑brand products.
- Conduct walk‑around inspections with the Used Car Manager to determine inspection/certification needs and bring vehicles up to Auto Nation appearance standards.
- Create comprehensive estimates based on inspections and technician findings, including specific work, total cost, and timing.
- Communicate via RPR Compass to obtain approval for additional work when needed.
- Manage all Reconditioning within After‑Sales Compass RPR system, maintaining vehicle status throughout the process.
- Ensure appropriate parts options, labor times, and sale amounts are used according to approved guides.
- Verify that each Certified Pre‑Owned vehicle meets CPO criteria, consistent with OEM and Auto Nation standards.
- Manage Reconditioning vendor relationships to improve quality, cycle time, and accurate invoices.
- Demonstrate behaviors consistent with the Company’s Vision, Mission, and Values in all interactions.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Valid in‑state driver’s license with a safe driving record; able to drive manual transmission vehicles.
- Professional appearance and demonstrated customer‑service skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent; industry knowledge and production‑related experience preferred.
- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information.
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- ASE certification preferred.
- Physical ability to operate an automobile; prolonged standing, stooping, and bending.
- Exposure to inclement weather as part of job duties.
$18 - $21 per hour.
