Business & customer strategy
- Collaborate with the Regional Operations Manager and AG Advisors to develop market plans for new and existing customers; stay current on new agronomy products
- Recommend strategic operational goals by gathering business, financial, service, and operations data; define objectives, implement plans, and evaluate outcomes
- Enforce customer service standards; analyze and resolve complaints; promote improved products and expanded services in the trade territory
- Manage and maintain proper working condition of vehicles, machinery, equipment, buildings, and grounds
- Ensure equipment is cleaned regularly to prolong safe operation and promote a positive company image
- May perform general vehicle, machinery, and equipment maintenance and repairs
- Follow all company safety standards and comply with OSHA, EPA, state, and federal regulations
- Manage inventory levels by ordering, receiving, and stocking
- Manage day-to-day operations and supervise Operations Specialists or Custom Applicators assigned to the plant
- Monitor for chemical leaks or spills and manage cleanup and proper disposal
- Act as backup to prepare chemical mixes for producers when needed
- Monitor for leaks or spillage and manage cleanup and disposal; contact emergency management when directed by the Regional Manager
- Act as backup to complete anhydrous ammonia preparation and transfer for producers
- Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and agricultural experience
- Knowledge of operational management, business management, accounting, budgeting, project management, and quality management
- Strong judgment, problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- Proven mentoring and coaching ability; able to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Basic math skills including proportions, percentages, and volume; able to prepare and interpret spreadsheets and graphs
- Ability to safely operate company vehicles, machinery, and equipment
- Valid operator's license and forklift certification required; CDL Class A with Haz Mat and Tanker endorsements preferred or obtainable within 60 days
