Job Purpose &
Position Overview:
This position is responsible for coordinating and implementing the workplan activities under the Region 7 Pesticide Circuit Rider Grant Program. The program provides pesticide safety education, technical assistance, and coordination of pesticide-related environmental monitoring support to Winnebago Tribal members, entities, and programs, as well as participating Region 7 Tribal communities. Responsibilities include outreach, pollinator and water protection initiatives, support for Worker Protection Standard (WPS) compliance, and collaborative efforts that strengthen Tribal environmental capacity.
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biology, agriculture, public health, or a related field preferred;
Associate’s Degree will be considered. - Familiarity with pesticide regulations, Tribal environmental issues, or EPA programs preferred.
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly to a range of audiences, including youth, elderly, and regulatory professionals.
- Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Valid Driver’s License and eligibility for Tribal vehicle insurance.
- Ability to travel, including overnight, as needed for events, outreach, and training.
- Note:
Training will be provided in areas such as WPS compliance, IPM education, and EPA circuit rider protocols.
This position does not include supervisory duties but requires independent work and collaboration with Tribal programs and interagency partners.
Training RequirementsMust attend EPA-sponsored training on pesticide safety, Worker Protection Standard (WPS), and regulatory compliance.
Must complete relevant onboarding education (e.g., PERC, NETI, Tribal pesticide program modules) within the first year of employment.
Physical Requirements- Light office work with occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and operate a computer and phone.
- Must be able to travel by vehicle and/or plane for site visits, outreach events, and training.

- Must be able to communicate technical and regulatory concepts to Tribal audiences with cultural awareness and clarity.
