We have an exciting locum tenens opportunity for a board-certified Emergency Medicine Physician in the Greenwood, Nebraska area. This position is ideal for physicians seeking a flexible work schedule in a dynamic emergency department with single coverage and strong support staff.

Position Overview:

  Near Greenwood, Nebraska

  Locum Tenens - Emergency Medicine Physician

• Shifts:
  Primarily midshifts, 8 - 8.5 hours
  • Example shifts: 10 AM - 8 PM, 2 PM - 12 AM
• Coverage Type:
  Emergency Department duties
• Support:
  Physician with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs); APP charts cosigned by physicians
• EMR System: EPIC (with Dragon dictation)
• Setting:
  Routine ER duties, including codes; limited trauma responsibilities

Key Qualifications:

• Board Certification:
  Must be Board Certified in Emergency Medicine or Family Medicine with at least 10 years of Emergency Department experience
• Licensing:
  Active Nebraska medical license preferred, but candidates willing to obtain will be considered
• Certifications Required: ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS
• Experience:
  Must have actively practiced as an Emergency Medicine Physician within the last 12 months or completed an Emergency Medicine Residency in the last 6 months
• Clean Malpractice History:
  Highly preferred

Patient and Facility Information:

• Annual Volume:
  Around 24,000 patients combined for inpatient and outpatient visits
• Single Coverage:
  One physician and one Advanced Practice Provider (APP) during shifts
• Admits:
  Approximately 17-20% of cases
• Specialty Backup:
  Easy transfer process to larger facilities for additional specialty support

Additional Information:

• Holiday Rate: 1.5x regular rate for holiday hours
• Orientation Rate:
  Half of the hourly rate for any orientation beyond 8 hours
• Scribes:
  Not provided
