ABOUT USNortheast Nebraska Community Action Partnership (NENCAP), INC is a private, nonprofit corporation. NENCAP serves an income-eligible population in a 14-county area of Northeast Nebraska with programs such as Head Start, Early Head Start, WIC/Immunizations, Healthy Families, Weatherization, and Family Services, free tax preparation, car seat programs, Veteran Services, Commodity Supplemental Food Program, and food pantries.
JOB SUMMARYThe Early Head Start Area Manager is responsible for understanding and monitoring developmentally appropriate practices for children birth through age three and family engagement of the Head Start Program, Education Partners. Area Manager will maintain a system of tracking staff performance on a regular basis. Facilitate a process to help staff develop individual plans to improve their environments, teaching practices to support young children’s growth and development and overall program quality.
Be the lead contact in specialty areas such as mental health as assigned. Submit checklists/observation reports to supervisor. Make monthly visits to each classroom to ensure children are appropriately supervised and engaged. Complete assigned observations and discuss results with each designated teacher. Review and evaluate lesson plans, family goals, observations, education calendars, documentation of home visits, Parent/Teacher conferences, and other education records prepared by Teachers.
Monitor Family Service Workers’ progress in conducting and documenting home visits, the Family Partnership Agreement, Family Service Outcomes, Health Screenings and other records prepared by the Family Service Worker. Assist and support staff in professional development. Attend and contribute to monthly Early Childhood management staff meetings. Maintain confidentiality of program participants and follow Program and Agency standards and policies.
High School Graduate or GED and one of the following:
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in early childhood education
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree and course work equivalent to a major relating to Early Childhood Education with early education teaching experience.
The starting wage is $23.00 per hour, plus benefits. Wage may increase depending on education and experience. Benefits include health, life, dental and vision insurance.
